Though my schedule is tight right now, I made time today to take my yearly Christmas picture of the kids so I can make my
holiday cards. Since we had to go to Winter Garden for Gillian’s voice lesson, we took the pictures there, around the historical museum. They have a decommissioned caboose, tractors, and a fire truck that make nice props/backgrounds.
I started out getting photo cards at Exposures after Gillian was born, but once I went fully digital with my pictures, I switched to Shutterfly. Every year I compare the card designs and prices between Shutterfly and Snapfish, and end up going with Shutterfly. It’s my favorite site for
photo books as well. Snapfish doesn’t give me as much control over my projects, or let me easily come back and make changes later.
I’ve got to come up with a Christmas letter, too. Well, I don’t have to, but yearly Christmas updates if collected together make a good, brief family history. I consider that well worth the effort, even if I never send the thing out to my friends and relatives. Maybe some year I’ll gather the text of my Christmas letters with their respective photos and make a photo book out of that. Hmm . . . note to self.
I’m thinking about
this design. It caught my eye because of the handwritten look of the words, and the celebratory but non-denominational message.
I’m also trying to organize a birthday party for my Christmas baby. I’m planning to have it in our local park, although the day I really wanted to have the party, the pavilion is already reserved. So I picked another day, but in order to reserve my time slot, I have to go in to the park office and give them a money order. It’s like the twentieth century around here. If I had time, I’d order
invitations, but I think I’ll have to skip it this year.
