It is one half hour until the new year. Yay! Not so yay is that Beths kids are all over here. All except Morgan. She had to go to the hospital this morning at 2 a.m. because she continued to spike a fever. This was not good because she is on two different kinds of anti-infectous agents to keep her from getting sick. They cannot stabilize her. They are trying to get her stable enough to transport to St. Judes. I'm so scared she won't make it out this time. I keep thinking of how frail and weary she was at Cracker Barrel not two days ago. I stayed home from a potential party where there was a boy waiting to meet me to play cards with them and get them to bed by 10:00. Shawna cannot stop worrying and I it took me the better part of an hour to calm her enough to sleep. I'm afraid that I drank rather a lot (for me). Thing is I can't stop worrying enough to sleep either. Lee called me to ask one last time if I was going to this party and I had to turn her down. One I already dipped into the alcohol and another I just couldn't let those kids stay there with stuffy old Bob and sleepy mom. There was no way. Sorry dream boy you'll just have to wait. I feel bad for not going but what could I do? If he can't understand why I didn't go then there wasn't any reason to meet him anyway.
