The day started off well enough: Slept pretty well, had a very nice breakfast.
Trixstir and I went to see "The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug" at the local theatre at the 2pm matinee. It amazes me that Peter Jackson was able to take the shortest book in the series, and stretch that one book into three movies nearly three hours long each!! Granted, he's taking some artistic license and weaving in a back-story, but WOW!! Got to hand it to the guy, not only can he milk a story for every penny possible, but he does tell an awesome story and keeps you coming back for more. I wonder what Tolkien would say if he could see these films?
At any rate, after the movie we met up with a group of friends at The Shawnee, the local Chinese-food place for the 60th Birthday Celebration of a friend. It was a smorg, and once again I had the Sweet & Sour Shrimp, which is one of my favourite dishes. I've had this at other restaurants many times without incident, but every time I have it at The Shawnee, I get sick. It took a record six hours this time (it was just past Midnight when it hit me) but my gut is on fire and I'm doing my best to make sure everything follows a one-way exit. :P
I thought I was going to be OK this time, but I was clearly mistaken. There can no longer be any doubt that something in the way they are preparing the dish makes me sick. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!!!
