The novelty of the job, that is. Maybe it's just the recent gloomy weather, or perhaps it's from having only one day off between work-weeks, but the last two days at work have been anything but enjoyable. The people I have to deal with (customers) drive me to the point of wanting to lock the doors and go home, but that's not an option. Overall, the job just isn't enjoyable anymore. The hours and the low pay are just not working out for me, though at the moment it's better than nothing. I have my resume out in a couple of other places that I know are hiring, so it will be interesting to see if anything comes of that. I sent those resumes out on the reccommendations of people who are currently working for said companies, and were aware of job openings.
One of them is in the parts-department of the local GMC dealership; The advantage there is it's local. The other one is with Honeybee Manufacturing (
www.honeybee.ca) which is apparently a great company to work for; Good wages, good hours, very family-oriented. The downside of Honeybee is that they're in Frontier, which is about a 45-minute drive from here. Still, anyone who lives in Shaunavon has to drive past here to get there, so car-pooling is a definite possibility.
We'll see if anything ever comes of these, or any other job possibilities. I just know that I can't keep doing the C-Store Clerk / Gas-Jockey thing much longer. :/
