I love what you did to wrap up the ending, just perfect. Not neat or tidy at all, but progress was made. And it was strangely tactile even though I'm reasonably sure Jack put on his own coat :) It shows that there's still some more give and take to go before things get back on an even keel. Beautifully done with an economy of words.

Oh, lovely. I like the flow of the scenes, all the same but each progressively different, and I adore the ending with the coat. Foreshadowing and awkwardness all in one!

This bit of dialogue:

It’s not that bad. High ceilings. Ambient pterodactyl. I come from Newport, so...”

“Not a lot of pterodactyls in Newport.”

“Not really, no.”

hit me as exceptionally real, for some reason. It sounded so natural and so them that all of a sudden it came to life in full colour and surround sound in my head. Great work!

Thank you so much! I'm happy you liked those couple of lines, because I wasn't sure if they were a little bit trite. Surround sound can't be bad though! For my next fic, bring 3D glasses. :D

this was fantastic. i love the rhythm of your writing.

His acquiescence put Jack off balance for a moment, and him as well - he hadn’t meant to, but including Jack in his spatial awareness had become such a habit over the last few months that muscle memory betrayed him.

the image you created with this phrase is stunning.

“And it’d play havoc with my CV.”

Aww, that is so Ianto. :)

I love this. I love how defiant Ianto is, but gradually realizing the futility of it. And I love how angry and indecisive Jack is, yet he keeps coming back.
