Oh now, that was wonderful.
Always a sucker for this era of fic and you've done it very well!
This is going straight into my memories!

Holy shit, that was hot and heartbreaking.

I could really see Ianto doing that: falling back into shoplifting, reading to Lisa until he's hoarse.

And Jack being so bloody blind to the pain Ianto's in.

To be fair, I think Ianto's probably damn good at hiding it ;) But thank you, I'm so pleased this worked for you. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment.

'"But every night at sunset, there were firebirds. Big as Myfanwy, and twice as mean, but oh boy… they were orange and gold, and every colour in between, so many shades they seemed to burn with it. We used to lie out on the hillside and we’d watch them. You closed your eyes, and you still saw them, blazing on your eyelids. ‘Course a lot of people used to miss that, with the bleeding ears and all…"'

Does this come from the Hitchhikers's Guide to the Galaxy? It sounds familar.

Great fic. I think you've got Ianto down pat.

Hmm, now I come to think about it, wasn't there a fabulously romantic planet with fire-breathing dragons in HHGTG? That may have been an influence, but I assure you if so, it was an unconscious homage, not a deliberate steal ;)
I'm pleased you enjoyed it, thanks for commenting.

Ughnshng... *mumbles incoherently*

That was fantastic. I love your Ianto voice, it's a little unusual but really right, and ooh, I love awkward first times between them - not a fantasy but so sexy at the same time. Jack's bang-on, too, all present and there but not quite pushing.

I'm really gratified you like the Ianto-voice, because I must admit I find him quite difficult, and this fic had a very long and difficult birth. Plus realistic sex ftw ;)

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, I'm so pleased this worked for you. Really appreciate it.

Thank you! I'm glad not-entirely-oblivious Jack worked for you. It was a hard line trying to make him clueless without making him completely thick (bless him). Really pleased this worked for you, thanks so much for taking the time to comment.
