I guess it's still the season for waiting for things to happen. Everything's pretty uneventful, life being centred around work and gym. Bodypump does keep one pretty fit. Managed to do 5 km in 26 mins 50 secs on the hamster track the other day, just off my record. Fortunately, the monotony was broken by decent food opportunities last week - Tuesday sushi lunch at Tatsu, Thursday dinner at mezza9 at the Grand Hyatt (was supposed to have been Graze at Rochester Park - but associate finished meeting late and didn't want to travel too far - disappointing), Friday client lunch at the Majestic Restaurant - not bad, but didn't excite me all that much. P, the owner of the hotel and former colleague, told me to contact him next time, and he will arrange something special. Saturday dinner was Japanese again, this time at Ryan's Washoku at the Changi Village Hotel, which, for the pricing, I thought was pretty decent, and they had a lovely Tamano Hikari Daiginjyo ....
This coming Tuesday I have been invited to a private dinner hosted by clients and the chef of Hua Ting Restaurant at Orchard Hotel. Looking forward to it. Then I will tahan till Toronto early next month, where I will do the rounds of good restaurants on expense account .... Truffles at the 4 Seasons is on my "must try" list .....
Going through a bit of the existentialism blahs at the moment, wondering what all this work is for, and had a minor setback of matters of the heart - but I move on, doggedly, and resisting the urge to wallow .....
