This happened when I was at Perth airport returning to Singapore last week. I was queueing at security waiting for my bags to be put through the x-ray machine when this family of 6 people (father, mahder and 4 kids), obviously Singaporean, walked in. The security guy at the entrance to the queue asked the father to weigh the package he was carrying (it was a box, tied with string, looked heavy - and the Australians are pretty Nazi about hand carry being less than 7 kgs). The following exchange took place:
Security Guy: I'm sorry sir, this package is more than 7 kg. You will have to get the ground staff downstairs to check it in.
Mahder (in a belligerent manner and tone): But we got so many people what. Cannot carry heavier meh?
*roll eyes*
