Daniel Won!
Daniel won the "What's on Stage" award as DEWYNTERS London Newcomer of the Year and Equus in general won as Best Play Revival and AKA Theatre Event of the Year. this last one expressively for Daniel Radcliffe’s steamy publicity shots for Equus.
The FRANCO’S Best Actress in a Play has been won by Maggie Smith for The Lady from Dubuque at the Theatre Royal Haymarket; while Sir Ian McKellen won Best Actor in a Play for King Lear, RSC at the New London (and this play i'm really sad i wasn't able to see).
Hairspray at the Shaftesbury won a total of 6 awards, i'm not into musical at all (well in reality i sort of find them totally boring. when actors start to sing my brain shut down completely) but even i have found the story amusing and refreshing.
In fact Thea Sharrock lost the award to Hairspray's director Jack O’Brien.
