Who knew friendships were so complicated.
So, honestly, Lauren and Tanya are my best friends. But, that doesn't mean that Kristen, Jen and Erin aren't way up there. I defend them to Tanya all of the time because she doesn't like them. And it is so hard to find time to chill with them when me and Tanya aren't hanging out because we're always together.
So, a) I don't think they really want to be friends with me anymore because I "always bail at the last minute" and b) I have several examples of that (which I regret completely--I don't tend to regret a lot either.)
First, a couple of months ago Tanya, Jason and I went to the movies. Kristen had invited me to go earlier with her, Jen, Jackie and Erin. Not a fan of Jackie, not a fan of the movie they were seeing. So I told them I wasn't going to go out. I ended up seeing a movie with Tanya and Jason and Erin knew that I went with them instead...
Then on Saturday night we had plans--I told them I didn't want to go out because I wasn't feeling well. Tanya and Lauren were here when I got back from work and said Kellen wanted to be picked up from a party. I walked into the house to get Kellen. Kristen was talking to Jason and Jason told her that I was for sure at the party. Jamie is also reassuring them I'm there. They won't even hear my side of it.
Now, I've kind of gotten myself killed. But things will work out. I hope.
