The cast of Fox's fall musical dramedy Glee is
doing a mall tour (actually, a Hot Topic tour) this summer. Boston (well, Natick) is the kick-off point for the tour, on August 17 (yeah, I'm lookin' at you, Larissa). Fox aired the pilot in May, I found it to be an absolute blast, and am looking forward to the September launch of the series proper (which has been moved up two weeks from the initial plan, thanks to the incredible buzz it's been getting). This thing has been burning up the forums at
Television Without Pity (seriously... 84 pages of comments at this writing, for a show that's aired exactly one episode so far), and considering that the motto at TWoP is "spare the snark, spoil the shows," the fact that the only real negative comments have basically been a groundswell of impatience to see more of the show, I find it pretty remarkable.
If you haven't seen the pilot, by the way, it's been
up at Hulu since the original airing in May, and I'm given to understand it will continue to be at least until the series officially launches in September with the "extended cut" of the pilot (even more fun than the broadcast cut, trust me) on September 2, and the season premiere (technically, episode 2) on the 9th. Fox will also run encores of the Wednesday night episodes on Friday for the first three weeks.
