Now this, m'dears, is a dangerous, dangerous question to be asking an English major.
-The Harry Potter series (no I'm not ashamed that this is first on my list lol)
-Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen (better than P&P in some ways.)
-The Redwall Series by Brian Jacques (only because since childhood...)
-Catch-22 by Joseph Heller (funny as hell and startling clear picture of human psychology. Bizarre and recommended for those who enjoyed Slaughterhouse Five and the like)
-Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (GUILTY PLEASURE. Romance novels...heh...)
-Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank (so the characters suck and it's dated, but it's SUCH a good story and portrayal of the mindset in the Cold War era)
-The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon (Love. Perfect and awkward and tear-inducing love.)
-Shakespeare's comedies (only because I dislike the Histories and I have to go through the Tragedies individually haha. IS A GEEK)
- ...many, many others, especially depending on my mood and in what setting I'm going to be reading. God...I think I might've drooled a bit, thinking of all my books that I want to go read, lol.
