I guess it's about time I update my journal. It's not like it's been a long time or anything (my last post was October 28)! But the most exciting news in between then and now is that I have a boyfriend now, his name is Jared, which most of you know already, we met at Kirkwood in Drill Team, he is a horticulture major, but has 5 horses and one mule. We started going out on Halloween. But a lot of stuff has happened between my last post and now, but I won't get into all of it. I'm now done at Kirkwood, just doing my internship right now. The program really turned bad this last year. One of the teachers (who actually knows things) was in a car accident over Thanksgiving, and didn't come back, so a lady came to replace her and didn't teach her classes at all and is stupid, who they have hired back again. Megan, another teacher, hates me, I hate her, and she isn't afraid to admit it to the rest of her students that she hates me. Otis had open heart surgery in february. And Nellie's (the barn manager) husband has had cancer for the past year and a half, passed away on July 1st.
But anyway, I had so much fun this year with my roomates, Jess and Hilary. Our other roomate moved out in December and we didn't get another one. Jess is one of my best friends now, I didn't really know her much until I lived with her, (i did know her through Drill Team, but didn't really hang out a lot) but she is awesome and my sexy lover!
I was told Red couldn't come back for the spring semsester because she was lame too much (she was only lame for a week over Thanksgiving break, so it's really stupid), so I moved her out to Stallion Station where I worked. After March 8, I only had 2 classes, so I started working at Stallion Station every day for about 5-6 hours except tuesdays, where I worked off all of Red's board plus got more money.
Drill Team went down to Des Moines again for the Iowa Horse Fair in April, yeah, that was interesting. Jess and I had been captians in the fall, but for the Spring it was Jess and Lindsey (and no one has any idea how Lindsey got to be a captian, she is stupid). But warmup in the arena in Des Moines was good, but during the performance there was a mat hanging on the fence, and alot of the horses were scared of it, including my horse, Kernel, he went to the middle of 3 circles, almost running into people. And Cody was crowhopping as we entered the arena, and Sweetheart bucked a bunch and yeah, it was interesting, but lots of fun!
I went down to Florida and Kentucky again in May. I was in a house with Chris, Brandi, John, Bryce, Kyle, Geo, Nellie, Jared and me. Nellie had the houses split differently, but one of the girls mom's is overprotective and told Nellie that she couldn't stay with any males in the house, so they were split guys and girls. But Brandi and Chris are a couple and Jared and I were, so we got to stay, which I was so happy about, because I would have killed all the girls. But we did a lot of fun stuff and I got to see Becky Brekke again (the first time in like 4 years), she got us a discount at Animal Kingdom and 3 in for free, because she is working at Disney. But most of the girls in the other house were homesick so when we were driving to Kentucky (with about 4 days left), Nellie let them go home with Megan (the other teacher who came). It was stupid.
We got back from Kentucky and I had about a week before I left on my internship. So I went up to Ashley's house, did a lot of things getting ready to leave, spent a lot of time with Jared and packed up my apartment. Mom and Dad came down on May 29, we packed up my stuff and on the 30th mom and I drove Red up to my internship in Wisconsin and Dad drove the rest of my stuff back to Michigan. The first couple hours in WI was rough, the town has about 120 people in it, with a post office and a bar. If I leave my cell phone in a certain spot on my dresser I can get text messages and hear when people call. But to call out I have to go way out by the mare pasture. And to get wireless (otherwise it's dialup) I have to sit in a spot on the couch and can't move otherwise it will sign me off. But the people I am working for and living with are really nice. I'm alone until about 3:30 or 4:30 M-F, so I do all the chores and lunge horses, give lessons and ride horses everyonce in a while. I'm here until probably september.
4th of July weekend I got Thursday PM-Monday AM off so I drove down to Cedar Rapids (quick stopped and saw Ashley) and went home with Jared almost to Missouri. We went to a fourth of July party, the rodeo, the lake a couple times, riding and just relaxed. jared's brother has Jack Russel puppies (well not puppies, they were born in October) and he has 3 left he is trying to get rid of. I was extremely tempted to take one of the males, he wasn't hyper, he wanted a lot of attention from me and followed me around everywhere. I regret not taking him, so if he is still there next time I go down, I will most likely take him (yes, I know it will be harder/more expensive trying to find a apartment, but oh well, i like the puppy!) It was a lot of fun and I didn't want to come back to WI.
So now I have to start trying to figure out what I am doing after my internship. Do I want to go back to MI? Stay in WI somewhere? Back to Iowa? Or another whole new place? I really want to go back to Iowa, but we will have to see what happens. So now everyone is pretty much caught up on my life. Lets see how long it is before I post again!
