(no subject)
Today a bunch of people congratulated me for being selected as the speaker, I guess there will be a dress rehearsal at some point. I think I figured out why it felt like I didn't know enough scientists a few years ago, I don't think they can possibly stand to associate with unreasonable people.
That word 'unreasonable' has a very specific definition. I probably unfollowed upwards of 50% of my friends feed at this point because I just cannot handle the irrationality of others. I'm not talking about those I love and care for and have crafted bonds with over the past decade, I mean strangers that add me or new friends. I literally can't even when someone is racist or bigoted or talks about how the country needs to send immigrants on a boat etc. I don't know how anyone finds the patience. I just want to turn southern and say "bless your heart".
Bless the hearts of the +200 illogical irrational morons with no interest in emotional or intellectual growth that are my social feed. I don't even know your goddamn names, I wouldn't know you if I saw at the store, I don't even know how or why you added me but here I am, annoyed that you exist and speak.
