“Oh my God, WAIT. Shut up! Look, he’s here!”

“Ow! Damn. Jae - your elbow - shit.”

Changmin rolls his eyes, refraining from sighing in exasperation as the tall display of stacked toilet paper predictably tumbles with their added weight. “Yah, Yoochun-ah! I just finished stacking those!” Changmin hears as he passes by on his way to the cash register. Scattered toiletry-a wonderful way to start the night shift.

“Hyung, you’re so loud!” Yoochun whispers loudly-which ends up not being a whisper at all. “Look he’s-eh? What happened to him? Why’s he in a wheelchair?”

“What?” Jaejoong cranes his neck to see the object of their weekly obsession whilst gathering and re-stacking two-ply Charmin with both hands. Changmin, with a little more shame than both his hyungs, looks too, but tries to do it less conspicuously.

What he sees is ‘Bubble Butt’-or so Yoochun has secretly dubbed him-unable to showcase his rather prominent behind. His most noticeable asset is currently ensconced between two wheels and pushed by another man. They amble towards the refrigerators, stopping in front of the sports drinks. Bubble Butt’s friend strikes a pose while contemplating on his choice of drink and if Changmin hadn’t already spied Jaejoong hyung drooling, he himself would probably be too.

“Jae, any wider and your jaw might unhinge,” Yoochun supplies when he too, notices the elder’s slack jaw and interest.

“My jaw unhinging is more like something you’d enjoy,” Jaejoong says wryly, snapping back to himself. “Not complain about. You’re just bummed Bubble Butt over there isn’t able to display his ass.”

Yoochun huffs, embarrassment coloring his cheeks. “That was one time Jae, one time and we said it wouldn’t happen again!”

“Keep telling yourself that,” Jaejoong replies flippantly “And that’s not what you were saying last night.”

“Ahem!” Changmin clears his throat loudly, pushing his glasses onto his nose. Night shift or no, these two were causing too much trouble. “Yoochun hyung, if you’re not going to buy anything don’t you think you should go home?”

“You tell him, Changmin!” Jaejoong exclaims, haphazardly stacking more toilet paper with only half of his attention.

“This is a public place, I’m allowed to be here!” Yoochun nudges at Jaejoong’s precarious display, tittering gleefully when it wiggles, threatening to fall.

“But you’re not buying anything,” Changmin points out, eyes darting to the pair still by the refrigerators. “You just kind of stay here all the time, loitering-which isn’t allowed, by the way-and messing up displays-which is annoying. In short, you have no purpose here.”

“Oh geez, straight to the heart Changmin-ah,” Yoochun groans dramatically as Jaejoong valiantly tries to hold in a guffaw. “Fine. Here. Ring this up for me.”

Changmin raises his eyebrows at him.

“Well, go on, I haven’t got all night.”

“A pack of gum?” Changmin says in disbelief. “Seriously? You spend nearly two hours terrorizing employees on the night shift and all you’re going to buy is a pack of gum?”

“What, I’m still a customer, you know!” Yoochun sniffs, slightly insulted. “If you don’t want me to buy gum from you, I can always go buy my gum somewhere else.”

Mildly incredulous but exactly the response he was waiting for, Changmin runs the pack of gum through the scanner anyway. He notices the slightly miffed look on Yoochun’s face even as he turns away to discreetly watch the lone pair of customers slowly approaching them. Changmin rolls his eyes.

“There, that’s $1.95 hyung. Look, I’m being nice, I even used my employee discount.” It brings back Yoochun’s attention and a grudging smile, one that Changmin also grudgingly returns. It’s entirely possible that Changmin’s easy when it comes to Yoochun’s smiles.

“Changmin, you cheapskate!” Yoochun laughs, leaning over the divider to place a wet kiss on Changmin’s cheek.

“Ew! Not in public!” Changmin exclaims, not as disgusted as he should be.

“So, in private then?” Jaejoong calls out, smirking at them from where he’s finally putting some effort into the toilet paper display. “Can I watch?”

“Um, are we interrupting?” Bubble Butt’s companion says. Both strangers are all awkward smiles, too bright considering the lateness of the hour.

“No, no! Not at all!” Yoochun declares, showing off a rare bout of speed as he swiftly moves away for the wheelchair to roll up close to the cash register. “Just-you know. Buying my gum. At night. Right now. My gum.”

Changmin has half a mind to gawk and laugh hysterically at the word vomit from Yoochun’s mouth, but as mundane as his job is, he takes it seriously. His smile just ends up being a little too big for when Yunho-sshi-Jung Yunho is what is says on the card-slides over his credit card to pay for two boxes of energy drinks.

“That’s a lot of drinks,” Jaejoong comments when he appears out of nowhere to bag the items.

“We’re restocking,” Bubble Butt says, face a ray of sunshine despite sitting in a wheelchair and how late it is.

“We’re dancers,” Yunho explains before an awkward silence can set in, “and since it’s my fault Junsu here is in a wheel chair, part of my punishment is to supply drinks for the next few weeks until his ankle heals.”

“Ahh,” Jaejoong says, taking his time to knot the plastic bag and settling it into Junsu’s lap. “Well, I hope that’s not the only punishment you have for him.” He winks shamelessly, shamelessly at Junsu, and Yunho flails a little, obviously embarrassed. Junsu laughs-a loud, awkward sounding thing that makes Jaejoong want to laugh too. Changmin stares a little because he can’t help it. He never thought he’d be able to describe a grown man adorable but that’s what Yunho looks like with embarrassment coloring his cheeks. And Bubble Butt - whose name they now know is Junsu - has a laugh that Changmin knows will ring in his ears long after the two of them leave. Junsu laughs all the way out the exit, Yunho still blushing and the both of them throwing looks back as they exit. Jaejoong even gives a little wave, chuckling at some unknown victory.

“Oh God,” Yoochun says, vocal now that the subject of his attention is gone. “If they never come back here, I’ll never speak to you again!”

“Right. Because you’re so coherent when you speak, Mister Gum My Gum.” Jaejoong snorts. “Don’t worry Yoochun-ah, they’ll be back. I mean, Bubble Butt comes at least once a week! I think next week he’ll start bringing his friend too.”

“Yunho,” Changmin says suddenly, “The friend’s name is Yunho.”

“Yeah?” Jaejoong eyes him skeptically. “Are you a stalker now?”

“As opposed to what am I usually?” Changmin glares, just a little embarrassed. “Don’t be a dumbass. That’s what it said on his credit card.”

“Excellent! Now we know both their names,” Jaejoong says a little too excitedly. “We know what to call them when they come back next week.”

“How are you so sure they’ll be coming back?” Changmin asks, skeptical. “Can you predict the future now?”

Jaejoong ignores the jibe. “Because,” he says with a devious glint in his eye. “Someone’s going to steal that wheelchair and it’s going to mysteriously appear in our frozen meat section. Wonderful way to get to know people, yeah?”

A/N: I haven’t been feeling well recently, so SuHo was unable to be written. Good thing I have some stuff backed up and can still post. Nowhere near as…intense, lol, or as complicated as some of the other stuff we’ve been posting, but hopefully you all enjoy anyway♥

Also, my obvious predilection for convenience stores and supermarkets and generally every place with a cash register is obvious xD
