Hello! First of all, I would like to thank everyone who gave me support and advice in my previous post
here. You are a big help and I felt much better after reading your comments.
However, things were not going quite nicely with my horse. A week after I posted about his soft/oily hooves, my senior vet came to visit and also suspected he had Laminitis. We did an x-ray two weeks later and that confirmed it. The vet said that he must have had a mild Laminitis a year before but the owner had cured it because, from the x-ray, the angle of the coffin bone was a little bit down and out of the hoof wall but not much. Anyhow, it wasn't something severe nor it will disturb him. He is now completely sound and shows no sign of uneven-ness. I was told he just need a good farrier ( which I already got him a good one ) who knows exactly how to adjust his hoof angle to maintain it.(?) The other thing they told me is to keep his weight light. Is that all I should be worry about or there is something else I should be aware of? Is there any chance that the coffin bone will go back to its normal position or will he be completely cured? What can make this goes worse?
Anyway, here are some of his pictures. :)
I LOVE his conformation. He has huge neck and big butt. He's 17 hh. Oldenburg. His color is a bit weird. It seems like he can't decide whether he wants to be Chestnut or Dark Chestnut. lol.
Sleepy face
His front legs that we found out he had mild Laminitis in the past. This pic was taken after the farrier did his shoes. Before, the angle of the toe is wrong ( it was long and went a bit upward ), hence, made him uneven in trot. But now it is okay and he's 100% sound. :)
Thank you for reading and look forward to hear what you think.
