I watched it and found it pretty interesting..always liked medieval stuff...and it's filmed on a farm in Jackson,Mississippi...which is about 2 hours from me...I want their barn!!!!
looking at the profiles of the competitors, many of them either work as jousters at medieval times or work with horses as a career, one is even training for the Olympics!
My trainer wanted me to try out for this when they were first looking for people. After I watched the first episode, I was like, "Do you want me dead?!"
The troupe that the guy in charge (Shane Adams) runs jousts at one of the faires I vend. (I totally got a pony ride on one of their gigantic horses! But not one who was in that first episode. Sadface.) And the showjumper dude (Fairclough) trained with a college coach I rode with. This show is just full of little connections for me. Mixed with the fact that I'm a medieval nut and a horse nut... yeah, I'm watching :)
Curious to see how the Medieval Times dudes do (there are about 6 of them) going from choreographed "fake" jousting to the real deal. The first one did alright, at least.
I did seriously think about it. I'm involved in some medieval stuff, as it is. I think that maybe I'll aim for more of the horseback archery approach, though... hehe :)
