So I was out in the paddock with my elderly brumby gelding the other day, rugging and feeding (we're in winter here in Australia) when I got to thinking. What would you do?
Scenario:
You have your DREAM horse. He/She is perfect in every single way that matters to you; temperment, conformation, bloodlines, even the color and markings are EXACTLY how you dreamed your horse would look when you were a pony-mad kidlet. HOWEVER, in order to keep the horse, you can not compete. Ever. In anything. No shows. No ARC. You are, however, allowed a trainer to improve your skills etc. Your horse is perfectly 100% sound. You may NOT breed (let's say you lost the rego papers, or something!). You may not hire the horse out or allow anyone else to show them or anything like that on your behalf. You can not lease the horse out. You can ride the trails to your hearts pleasure but you can not do endurance and you can't do CTR.
You do not have the funds/time for another horse, or to even ride another horse. This is IT. This one horse is all you can have.
Question:
Do you keep the horse?
What will you do with your horse?
Would you get bored?
And just so it's not all text:
My fat old boy :)
