So day 1 after my mares proud flesh removal and she's feeling a lot better!
As anyone who has read my last post knows, I've been battling with this for around 12 weeks ever since she got cast in her stable.
It got really bad yesterday after I removed her bandage, you will see what I mean by comparing photos of it.
Anyway without further ado, here are my before and after pics! I suppose I should warn you people with a weak stomach that they arn't that pretty.

To start, here is the origional damage after she got cast.
Where the proud flesh is now
Now for the proud flesh 2 days ago, 3 weeks after getting it burned down using a baking powder and petroleum jelly mix, it came back after a week of treatment. At this point in time I wasn't too worried.
And the Proud flesh yesterday, now you can see why I decided to get it removed, I have no idea why it flared up as much as it did, it was bloody, open and incredibly hot.
The mess after getting it cut off
A very sleepy mare!

The aftermath - taken today after the removal!
Any questions feel free to ask!
She's feeling a lot better today, was flirting with her boyfriend (the connemara gelding who was gelded as a 6 year old - still thinks he's a stallion bless him!)and is now sleeping in her very clean, comfy and deep bed!
