I need some advice. My farrier today discovered that my new gelding, Dan, has white line disease in all four feet to some degree. He told me to clean the hoof the hoof, dig out around the hoof wall, and treat it with kopertox to try and slow it down.
Here's the problem- the horse is dangerous. The best way I can describe Dan is bi-polar. One moment he's fine, the next he's completely blowing up for no reason kicking, rearing, biting, etc. The blow ups don't happen everyday, and I have no idea what sets him off, but enough times during the week that I don't even want to touch him anymore. I've only had the horse for 6 months, so I figured I'd just let him be a pasture puff and only handle him for vet and farrier check ups.
The first thing everyone is telling me when I've told them about Dan's hooves today is "Don't treat him, don't touch him, put him down"
What do you guys think?
