YAY Another NYC rider!! I'm an adult "re-beginner" (or "reginner as I've coined recently!). Rode a bit as a kid, now in my early 30s and basically starting over. But I've come pretty far in a few months, at least by my standard ( ... )

I tried Riverdale back when I first moved here two years ago, and the instructor pretty much told me after the lesson there wasn't much she could do with me because despite the fact that it'd been so long I was too advanced for her to really instruct me....so there went that one. I don't even remember the woman's name.

I haven't tried Jamaica Bay...that just sounds...far. I know I'm talking about driving to Jersey but the thought of schlepping out there via MTA makes me want to hang myself.

I stupid stupid stupidly went to Kensington next, and it made me want to alert the authorities. I've never had a worse lesson in my life, Jesus H.

Yay NYC Horsey people! Friends? I think so.

Yes! Friends.

Yeah, Jamaica Bay is far from Manhattan. It isn't so bad for me since I already live halfway there. I'm still pretty beginner (just w/t/c and beginner canter at that and even my trot could use plenty of work. Even my walk, really!), so Riverdale is still working out for me, but I could see myself outgrowing them eventually unless I get my own horse and ship in a trainer or something.

I could go on about Kensington, but I'll refrain in a public forum.
