Just dropping in to say THANK GOD FOR HELMETS.
I have been known for being slightly lax on helmet wearing in the past (Most just with my own horse), but I've recently started working in a event yard that is very strict on the whole 'helmet thing'.
Today I was hacking out one of their horses, a 3 star going 4 star TB that is HUGE and can buck like no body's business. He bucked, and bucked again, and I hit the deck. Hard. I managed to avoid the flailing legs, but I landed ass, arm, head. On very, very hard grass gallops.
Luckily the only result of the fall is that I can barely sit down because my tailbone is bruised (again -_-) and I hit my head hard enough to give myself a headache and a bruise, through my helmet.
Needless to say, I'm so grateful that I was wearing a hat, or I would have been knocked out cold for sure and would probably be in hospital. One of my first thoughts, after 'ow', was 'Thank F*** I've got my helmet on!'.
So everybody, hug your helmets today! You never know when they might what could have been a serious accident and a trip to ER into a few bumps and a bruised ego!
Also, anyone have any cures for a broken ass? Its not the first time I've done it and BLOODY OW.
And so it isn't all text, a recent picture of me a the monster Franki, and a picture that I mention recently in a post and someone asked me to post
