Wow hello...

I really need to update more haha, it's difficult with exams but SAM AND I ARE NOT DEAD!

We've been having lots of fun, have been to two sponsored rides (for anyone who doesn't know, you get sponsorship money and complete a cross country course though all jumps are optional, the money goes to charity) one of which was 7 miles long, the other was 10 miles. I'm very proud of how Sam behaved, especially at the second one (10 mile) he jumped everything I pointed him at and was the best behaved horse in our group!

Sam and I at a sponsored ride :)
I'm not very happy with my position in this but at the previous ride Sam refused almost every jump at least once so I was riding very defensively, every time he did jump he caught me off guard haha. Not a valid excuse really but I like to pretend that's partly why I look so awful haha.

Giving my younger cousin a ride :)

Trotting around the summer field just after we moved them in there

He went through a phase of pretending to be a stallion while all the mares were in season -_-

We have also come on in leaps and bounds with our jumping recently. It's taken us two years to get this far but for our first year together all we did was hack out and we've had no formal training (not that that's a good thing, I would love to get an instructor out to give me some lessons on Sam but I just haven't been able to find a suitable arrangement yet.)

Here are a couple of videos:

I made this video a few days ago to show how much we've improved.

Then yesterday we did this. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it haha.

If anyone would like to give some constructive criticism I'm always looking to improve. I mean, I've never had tuition over jumps at that height, I just try to stay out of his way, help him out as best I can and stay safe.

Also, what do you guys think of Sam as a jumper? I don't think he's ever done anything at this kind of height before.

Thanks for having a look/reading etc :)
