I'm not sure if I did the right thing
I was riding a thoroughbred mare today for the first time (and this was a riding school mare, FYI and I'm a novice but clue #1 she was spooky was she was being ridden in a standing martingale.) First she spooked at a yellow part of a jump and I stayed on, but then coming past it again she bucked me off. It was a relatively soft fall but I didn't feel I could control her so I asked my instructor for another horse for the rest of the lesson- now I'm wondering if I did the right thing. I'm quite freaked out, this mare really *meant* to buck me off but then I'm also wondering if the riding school did outhorse me (I've only ridden one mare before but she's solid and I've never ridden a thoroughbred) or if it's safe to continue at this riding school (all the other horses I've ridden have been 100%.)
