Mud rash season

For those of you who live in climate zones where this is relevant, what is your winter mud rash prevention/treatment regime?

Pig oil, before it starts, and lots of it. Yes, you have greasy feet for a while, but it really does work, stops then getting it at all I've found, and if you clip, do a strip straight up the back of the legs, fanning out at the pastern down to the hoof, and it's much easier to keep oiled, and clean, and washed if you're going to shows or anything. If you have a Countrywide near you, they sell it in great big tins, if not, I think Robinsons have it these days, I'm sure RideAway do, and many local supplies stores are starting to stock it.

If they end up actually getting it, pig oil with flowers of sulphur - available very cheaply on eBay - works wonders, or for mild cases, slather on the good old fix-all, Sudocrem :)

Great, thanks! Last year, I used liquid parafin--nasty stuff! I have a huge tub of Sudocreme and Protocon just in case.
