Hi again everyone! :) I've been looking into Smart Paks for my horse, and it looks like it could potentially save me a lot of money. I'm wondering what kind of experience you've had with Smart Pak, if their system works well for you, all that jazz.
My second question is what supplements you recommend for vitamins in general (she's currently on a mixture of a little alfalfa and orchard grass 2x daily), and weight building? Smart Pak has a supplement called Mega-Cell which is what I've been thinking would be good for Andie, and for a weight building supplement I most most interested in Fat-Cat or Cool Calories. One thing I noticed was that some of the weight building supplements had Probiotics and Prebiotics, which Mega-Cell also has, though it doesn't say in what quantities for either. Should I only use one supplement with Pro/Prebiotics, or is it OK to double up on those? Is it possible for a horse to get too much of those? I don't know hardly anything about them, so any general information would be good.
Thanks guys! :) My mare doesn't like oil on her food, so I've been looking for other ways to get some more weight on her, so any weight gain tips in general is good. :)
Edited to add further details on her feed...
Andie is also on Continuex Daily Dewormer and a hoof supplement, but she's always had good strong feet, so I might not need to continue her on that. She gets a coffee can full of beet pulp, too.
