Hi, I'm looking for opinions on horse massages. A lot of people swear by them, but unfortunately I can't afford the luxury of having a chiropractor or massage therapist out for my horse right now (I believe the going rate in this area is $120 for a massage therapist to come out for a half hour). I was wondering if this was something I could do myself, or would I be likely in my inexperience to do more damage than good? My mare had some back soreness about a year ago, but I worked with my vet and the problem has subsided, I just thought a massage might be a nice way to reward her after a ride. But I don't want to make things worse either. Any opinions would be appreciated.
