In August I bought a 3 year old paint mare. I was looking for an older horse to tool around on for fun, while I was waiting for my 2 yr old to grow up. But I found this 3 yr old with supreme temperment and a decent build, and decided to go for it. Turns out, she must have been drugged, because this horse was certaintly not broke to ride(and I have pics of me on her for our test ride!). The first time I got on her at my farm, she did a 180 spin and took off bucking like a bronc before I was even all the way in the saddle. Needless to say, I landed on the ground in about 2 seconds flat and was out of work for a week with an intense back injury. For months I went back and forth on selling her, but I decided to stick with her anyway. She has some fear issues, and I am very good with those kinds of things. If I had sold her, who knows what would have happened to her. So fast forward to now, 5 months later, tons and tons of training, and a buttload of sappy "awww I love my horse" moments, and I present to you, our first ride!! Sorry no vid, but it'd be pretty boring since we are just working on walking, backing, and steering right now. She was so calm and steady. I am blown away! :-)
