This is Boon. One of the many horses I've looked at. I think he's beautiful in color.

I think he's beautiful, but he's way too young to be ridden already. Especially the third picture shows he still has to grow a lot.

Exactly.

If he has been ridden more than a few times? As a prospective buyer, I'd be concerned.

He's very beautiful, but I agree with femme_f in that he's too young to be riden just yet. He still has some growing to do.

Can you explain to me how you can tell he still has a lot to grow?

He is beautiful! Quite the prospect. He reminds me of my sister's first horse, and he turned out to be a wonderful athlete and a sweet horse with a huge heart. If you get him, good luck! ^___^

For his age/training experience and depending on what you're doing with him, that price *could* be still a bit high with the market as it is now. I only say that because I'm seeing some well bred QH's that age range going for $500-1000 (and some completely broke and almost show ready ones for the $1500-2000 range).

If the only thing that matters to you is that he's buckskin, then you're doing well to find one that is tall and not terribly put together. (I don't particularly like his pasterns, but that's just me)

Very cute horse! I didn't like his pasterns, either, but we have a few in our barn with similar pasterns and they have never taken a lame step. Having said that, they don't do very much, either. It depends on what you want the horse for.

I can't believe that you are seeing QH's going for this cheap.. that's kind of depressing!

He was originally $2000+ but the owners told me everyone who's come to see him, like him, but want something smaller.

I'd say too young to be ridden too.. although it depends on how much and if they are actually riding or just teaching to accept the saddle.

I work for an Olympian and she works with the 2 year olds putting tack on and off, and the first bit of accepting a rider - maybe 5 times getting on/off, and walking a bit. Then they are given a while to think about all that and we start again at 3.

*drool* on the color though!! And what a sweet face!!

He looks a little back at the knee to me, but nothing else jumps out at me.

A little young for heavy riding, as stated above, so a lot would hinge on what you want to do with him an when.
