It's the wild west in China right now given their recent embrace of capitalism. I'm sure, in time, this sort of garbage will be phased out. In fact ,an animal rights movement has begun to grow quite rapidly in China in the past few years.

Given the starting point it wasn't going to get any smaller...

You can do that at some pet stores in the US... one of the pet stores here in my small town has a parinah(sp?) and you can pay a dollar and throw live goldfish to it.

You're not kidding. Lions can weigh upwards of 9100 pounds can't they? That didn't even look like a large horse in that photo. UGH.

9100lbs? erm, no. Its somewhere around 550lbs. They've done the same thing for years in circuses with Knabstruppers and at least it was wearing a harness so stop it from being clawed up when the thing jumps on and off its back.

Wow, that's not cool, that poor horse looks petrified:S It's funny though, because the first thing I thought of when I saw that, was that how we humans are predators too, and most horses learn to pack us around just fine:P

I was thinking the same thing, Humans are the ultimate predators we are at the top of the food chain. We've just domesticated the shit out of horses (and so many other animals) so they trust us.

I don't really see what's so entertaining about watching a lion ride a horse though. George W maybe...but a horse no lol.
