Sara had taken Honey to the kennel earlier that day. Gil was responsible for ensuring that his bugs had sufficient food and water to see them through the few days they would be gone

Making a point of annoying the sour-faced lady sitting across from them made the five hour flight go by very quickly.

Phale and Wilson debarked first, anticipation on both of their faces. Sara and Gil followed, holding hands, keeping an eye out for the party meeting them.

Speaking of...

"Oh shit. Catherine brought everyone."

Sara closes her eyes. "Please tell me Greg isn't shouting into a megaphone."

"It's not too late to elope in Hawaii," he grumbles. "We could still make a run for it."

Seeing the bemused expressions on their friends' faces, Sara sighs, shaking her head. "They'd kill us at this point. And--oh, I see Mike. MIKE!"

The older man lets go of his fiancee's hand, hugging his sister tightly.

Grissom leans to kiss Holly on the cheek, and tells her she looks lovely, which turns her glow into more of a blush. He doesn't have much of a chance to step back before he has his arms full of Catherine, who hugs him and then smacks him on the shoulder.

"What's going on?"

Grissom looks to Sara, bemused.

"I'm pregnant and we're getting married. Let the record show we got engaged before he knocked me up. The wedding's Saturday and the sheriff has agreed to make the director give you guys that day off. Want to come? Oh, and Cath, don't do anything to Gil. I prefer him in full working order."

In his best deadpan, Grissom adds, "Well, honey, that's not necessarily true. You may have been knocked up before I actually asked you - there's really no way to tell."

"You were goin' to ask her, right?" Nick asks, giving Grissom a narrowed-eyed look.

That earns him a glare from Mike. "Don't forget which of us is actually her brother."

And ends with both getting smacked. "Don't talk about me like I'm not here."

Grissom's reaction? Decidedly not amused. Nick finds himself on the wrong end of a death glare, with Gil managing not to mouth off and say something sarcastic like 'No Nick, that's why I just made it very clear we had no idea she was pregnant when I asked her' even though it's taking an enormous amount of restraint to keep his lips shut.

"We should make sure James and Phale get to their hotel, and get settled before my mom arrives," he says in a cold, measured tone.

She takes his hand, squeezing. "Probably a good idea. There's time to catch a nap before picking up your mother and going to dinner."

Grissom still looks pissed, but holds Sara's hand gently.

"Catherine, you have the reservations?"

"Sam's giving you and your friends the five-star treatment. We're talking later, buster," she warns, though giving Sara a surprisingly friendly smile.

"Let's go to baggage claim. I don't want to have to find another dress."

Grissom just nods, silently moving to follow her, placing his hand on her back possessively.
