It was not much of an exaggeration to say that Edward Elric had never been quite so happy in his entire life. The pile of books he'd amassed in the compound went forgotten as he tore down the hallway, and out of the building. He felt the ground solidly beneath both feet, Felt both hands curled into fists, both arms swinging back as forth as he ( Read more... )

Al had been sketching Rua earlier to learn about action, and was trying to understand how light passed through a butterfly's wings in the moment his brother walked up. He smiled, brightening a little, and tipped his head up.

"Brother," he greeted, then hesitated, and eyed him somewhat dubiously.

"...What's going on?"

Without further delay, Edward pulled his arms from behind his back, and unceremoniously thrust them, palms up, into Al's line of vision.

"Take a good look, Al!"

"I can't believe it!"

Edward laughed as well, folding both arms around Al and hugging him back just as fiercely. Feeling both arms around him, for once feeling that complete circle, and it was beyond words.

"I can't believe it either! I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't attached to it!"
