Today, as predicted, I basically slept til noon and moped around all day. That's that.
This evening was the Rock for a Cause concert at Merrimack College, featuring a number of performers, including my good friend Tom Clark. So, I picked up Kayla around 6:30 and we headed over. We were there for a few minutes, and I ran into the man himself. Made speak with him for a few before he had to head backstage to do backstage-type activities. A few minutes later, EVERYONE arrived! Definition of everyone: Ski, Laura, Laura's guy (his name slips my mind, good kid though), Amanda, her sister Alyssa, Liz, and her current squeeze. It was good to see them all again, even Liz. I didn't talk to her at all really, but she seemed happy, which is good.
The show itself was quite entertaining. 50 Ways opened, and they were pretty good. Seemed a little timid onstage, but the female lead singer had quite the set of pipes on her. AJ Edwards went on next, and aside from his self-confessed sick status and his tuning issues (It's all about the tuning), he had a tight set. Will Daley came on next. I have seen him before when I saw Mappari (he's their lead singer), but I wasn't overly impressed with his stuff. His flalling and shaking was more intriguing than his music. However, he did play Mappari's "Rise" which was cool. Tom came on next, and got quite a good reception (mostly because Ski and I were hootin and hollerin...lol). His set was tight though...he's come a long way since the "bathroom sessions" sophomore year...haha. We stuck around for Todd Martin after Tom, and I'm glad we did. He was really good! Had some good tunes going on...I'll prolly purchase his CD soon. We left after Todd's set, even though there were 3 more bands. We were all getting restless though. We spoke with Tom for a few, then all of us (sans Liz and her BF) headed to a chinese place down the road. Some good conversation over scorpion bowls and lo mein ensued. After that, we all parted ways. Again though, it was nice to see everyone again.
Kayla got a text from her friend, saying they were at the Brewery, so we headed over! The place was dern crowded! We just sat around...I felt bad, cuz I know Kayla wanted to dance and stuff, but its just not my thing. Plus, we had our jackets and no where to put them etc. We made the best of it though.
That's it. I am now here, ready to rest my weary body and not wake up for a while! Can't wait.
