He didn't bother to check his phone's caller ID, for the personalized ringtone told him all he needed to know about his caller. With an annoyed sigh, he pushed the cobza from his lap and made a face at the kitten who was amusing itself by batting at the broken string that Ion hadn't yet replaced.

He hit the answer button perhaps a bit harder than was needed.

"What do you want?"

Ion had to pause for a moment to bit his lip against the smug laugh that threatened to burst forth. It hadn't taken nearly so long to wear the idiot down as he had thought it would. Mihailo really had no willpower.

Oh so rapidly, Ion's tone and the subtext layering his commentary was beginning to delve into a category of emotional states Mihailo had little to no experience (outside of familial bonds) in handling.

At dizzying speeds apparently, the conversation had already so far gone into unexplored territories, the spike in his pulse had Mihailo gripping the phone with unnecessarily hard pressure. "That is more or less what I have stated."
