"How The Beatles changed the Soviet Union"

A rare non-Eppy Beatles-related post from me ~ always remember, however, that this whole phenomenon that (according to the documentary) launched the revolution that finally tore down the Iron Curtain, would never have occurred if not for BRIAN EPSTEIN. Truly.

There are many meanings to the word "spiritual" (most of which make a realist's teeth curl, LOL) ~ but the legacy of Brian is still working wonders in a big, big way.

Personally, if not for Brian, and then the internet (which I'm positive he would have been enthralled with and addicted to), I would never have come in contact with (and in a few unbelievable gobsmacking instances actually MET) such awesome people all over the world who I never dreamed existed.

Of course you know, Anna tops the list! When/if the Great Eppylover Time Machine Adventure comes to pass

yeah, right, dream on ~
Anna MUST be by my side. In most ways we are opposites as people, but ~ that would work to our advantage, don't you think so?

BTW ~ This very video has made me ANOTHER friend (born in 1952), on Facebook ~ this one lives in Chicago (about 4 hours from here via car), a lady whose mother immigrated from the Ukraine to Canada in 1914. Her favorite FB friend is in Russia.

Wow.

If Bri had never "created a monster" (as he said in his last year), the world would indeed be a very, very, very different place, and much poorer artistically/culturally.

People just do not frickin' realize this!!!

If he had lived longer, he would have seen it. The fully-accepted impact of his "monster" simply had not developed enough in 1967 to be ubiquitously obvious.

Oh man. As always, I babble on and on. Sorry.

Brian had such a huge impact on the world that was almost impossible for someone who wasn't political or religious leader, and the most wonderful thing about him that he affected these giant changes with his own decent, modest and quiet way, without being noticed and associated with them.

It's interesting to know what he meant by "monster".

I know a lot of people who have an oppinion that "our great country (soviet union) was f.cked for bloody sex, drugs and rock-nn-roll". Really.

You're too kind to me really.I did nothing in comparison to what i intended to do and it bothers me a lot.But I hope i'll have more opportunities to be useful. You're right, we have opposite points of view indeed; and the more I know about Brian the more I realize I'm his antipode too. And I adore him for that too.:-)) But you can be sure that in any crazy Brian-related adventure you can count on me.:-))

By the way, I did open dictionary (my english teacher strongly recommends not to use it and try to understand things by their context:-)). I didn't mean "religious" when I said "spititual", but connected to the world of ideas and psyche :-))
