Addition to my previous post with the Pattie interview

San Francisco journalist Katie Hickox just clued me in on another radio station that broadcasts a Sunday Breakfast With The Beatles.

On their website they have posted another interview with Pattie Boyd. It's in mp3 format...
It's on this page...

A couple of quotes that can easily apply to Brian Epstein: "After I'm dead I'd rather have people ask why I have no monument than why I have one."
        ~ Cato the Elder

"Man is the only animal that laughs and weeps, for he is the only animal that is struck with the difference between what things are and what they ought to be."
        ~ William Hazlitt

p.s. Today in Brian History:

Today in 1961, Brian, then managing one of his father's NEMS record stores in Liverpool, supposedly was asked by Raymond Jones for a copy of the record "My Bonnie" by what Brian presumed was a German group known as The Beatles. He didn't have it in stock, and further research piqued his curiosity to the point where he became obsessed, and to our great benefit, history was changed hugely and forever.

For alternate and more accurate viewpoints please see Bill Harry's article on Brian (unfortunately difficult to find without either a link like this or navigation instructions) in his Rock & Pop Shop website ~ and also Bri's childhood friend describes how it happened, through his eyes, in Joe Flannery Recalls on Bill's Mersey Beat website, especially on pages 2 and 3 of article. (Many more little-known Beatles facts can be found in these articles, and read a reference to Alistair Taylor's version of the event.

Here's an article from The (London) Independent that also may shed some light.

Or, if you don't want to mess around with comparing all the different versions, the eppylover would just as soon you believe the most widely-held legend, the one that Eppy himself would've rather had you believe ~

~ Brian's/Derek Taylor's own slightly questionable story as printed in A Cellarful of Noise ~ as written up where I started off with, "Today in 1961..."

*another evil snicker emanates from christine, as bill harry bounces off the walls*
