Racist iPhone Spellchecking

Jan 20, 2008 20:37

I have not wrote about this yet, but I got an iphone back in november. If you still have my old 814 phone number, it is no more. They would not let me port my number over since I was no longer in the PA billing network. The good news is that I am now saving about $30 a month on my cell phone bill compared to verizon.

It is turning out to be one of my most favorite of devices ever. It does everything I have ever wanted a phone to do, (as long as it is jailbroken)

However, today I ran into an odd feature of the iPhone spelling auto correct. When i got a text message asking if I had to work tomorrow, I typed in the response "Yes I do because my company hates mlk." Before I realized what happened, I hit the send button and noticed it had auto corrected "mlk" to "KKK"! Also, I am apparently not the only one that has experienced this. I really wonder if this was accidental or deliberate. Seems almost too coincidental.

Anyone else got an iPhone yet?
