So Showboat is finally OVER! Closing weekend was pretty good. There was a fun lil' cast party at Scott's on Friday night and I would have liked to stay later, but we had to leave. And the last performance yesterday went well. Sara came to the show and I was so excited to see her! I missed her tons! I hope that I can make it to NYC sometime soon and visit her, that would be awesome!! I have to admit there are a few things I will miss about the show.
4. Doing Life Upon the Wicked Stage
3. Dancing in the Charleston
2. Ad-libbing with everyone in the crowd scenes
1. Being COVERED in cofetti in the New Year's Eve scene
Strike went pretty well, I was actually on the top deck of the Showboat for the FIRST TIME!!! I wish I had gone up there before that though because it is wicked fun up there and the view is really neat-the theater looks so much bigger!! After doing a decent amount at strike Lyss, Kel and I went to GR and got some food and then headed to the cast party at Ana's. Her house is gorgeous! And obviously there was a ton of food there because we had already eaten. Haha, I had some fruit salad (blackberries are my new obsession!!) and a stuffed shell (my fave!!) and obviously some cookies! I had a good time mingling with the different groups and laughing at all the under-agers going to great lengths to steal beer. I just had a good time jumping on the trampoline and eventually going in the wicked warm pool. I didn't know that she had a pool, so I didn't bring a bathing suit. But Samantha was wicked nice and let me borrow hers that she actually bought at Wal-mart on the way there. I actually found out it was not a bathing suit at all, but a matching bra and underwear! Haha, and I didn't quite fill it out so I was a little nervous about falling out but it was a good time anyways! I was a little sad that it was over, but all the people that I've become good friends with through the theatre I know I will see (probably a few times before I go back to school, even), so no worries. I'm super-psyched to go back to school on Sunday though!! I talked to Heather the other day and she got me very excited!! I think the first few days before classes start will be tons of fun and I'm actually thinking classes won't be so bad either because I'm lame and I like having a set schedule like that, haha. I'm not really sure how excited I am about Guys and Dolls though. It isn't exactly one of my favorite shows of all time, but I am looking forward to the dancing in it because, well, dancing is fun! Oh well- yay to having nights *free* this week!!
