A Silent Kind of Faith by lizzyrebel. This story begins with season 3's endpoint, and follows Claire into the future. It gives Claire a depth and feeling and maturity that she frequently lacks, and yet flows naturally from the character herself as though it was there all the time. Heh. You know what? I read both and thought about recing both, but don't you know it, you beat me to the punch. ;) I really adore both of these stories, because there just so rich and they have such depth. The first is so raw and painful and pretty damn amazing for a her first fic in the fandom, and I just got lost in the second one, in every detail about James and his life and the way he sees the world around him.

They're both really great stories, and the recommendations are well deserved.

I just realized that Jen's rec of the first story might not be seen by everyone, and it is so well done that everyone should check it out. And then I couldn't rec the one without recing the other amazing story I'd read recently, because it was so, so good. Like you said, the details and the way he sees the world *make* the story.
