that's a lovely poem. I remember feeling just the same, especially as a teen. And now I have the urge to be on the other side so often, with the kids...

as for the poem itself, I like the repetitions, very effective

Oh, I can see that now too, looking at it from the other side. That didn't really occur to me, though it should have. I was just relating to it as an adult who doesn't want to be told what to do.

Wow. It's remarkably complex for such a tiny thing, looking at it again.

That poem speaks volumes to the mother of a 2-year-old, but I realize that today, on the day that my baby is turning 14, it still holds true! You picked the perfect time to post this. :)
