Got tagged by lillyjk on this one: List your current six favorite songs, then pick six other people that have to/might want to do the same.
Not picking 6 people, so if you wanna do it, just do it. I also can't think of 6 current favorite songs, so here's what I've had on "repeat" on the computer in the last week.
1. Drowned on Dry Land by Del Amitri. Who are notoriously my favorite band ever. My absolute favorite song of all time by them is "Be My Downfall" but this is a close second. And it reminds me of Lost: "When your world is full of strangers, when your nights are dark and dangerous..."
2. "Someone Else's Story" from Chess (Broadway cast, Judy Kuhn)
3. "Cinderella" by Vince Gill. Jealousy, and a guy who's too nice to steal his friend's girl. '90s country
4. "True" by Downpilot. I'm just in love with the first line: "I heard the most dangerous thing about you."
5. Other old country songs (was in a bit of a nostalgic, country mood, I guess): "Everything that Glitters" by Dan Seals (my copy's from a tape I made in like 6th grade, and you can hear an alarm clock ticking on it, and it just takes me back); "Dance Little Jean" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band; "Girls Ride Horses Too" by Judy Rodman
6. Cheesy ballads in the car: "Sometimes When We Touch" by Dan Hill. Sooooo lame, and yet looking at it in a new context, makes the best slash song ever. (Really, it makes much more sense that way.) Also "The Search Is Over" by Survivor. Last summer after the S4 finale, I decided this was THE perfect song for Luke and Lorelai. Plus, being a power ballad, you can just shriek while driving.
