No one expects the Japanese Navy!
Eric and I had a fun little afternoon today. I decided to take him to Attman’s Deli for lunch because I believe it’s somewhere every self-respecting Jew in Baltimore should be familiar with. In accordance with our respective heritages, I had a corned beef sandwich and he had a brisket sandwich. It was nice to show him this little taste of Baltimore.
Then we decided to go down to Fells Point for ice cream. Walking down to the water we noticed this big ship at the dock. Then Eric saw the flag and said it’s a Japanese Navy ship. I asked if they were attacking before asking didn’t we dismantle all of them a while ago. Anyway, it was a training ship for Japan’s self-defense force and they had opened it to the public to go walk around. So of course we did that! It was awesome; going to Fells Point on a whim and winding up in the control room of a Japanese Naval ship.
