Emanuele Nifosì The sky was clear and starry on this autumn evening, so I decided to take some
wide-field photos, connecting my
reflex camera to the
equatorial mount of my telescope. After a few photos of
Jupiter (upper right) and the
Pleiades (lower left), I intently searched for our distant seventh planet,
Uranus, that on this night was located between the
King of Planets and the
Seven Sisters. After finding it (circled), I was able to frame all three objects with my
50 mm lens. Photo taken on October 20, 2023, at 00:43 local time.
Photo Details: Single shot; Nikon D700 camera; Nikkor 50 mm lens; ISO 1,600; f/5.0; 158 second exposure; HEQ5, Optolong L-Pro filter; Lightroom software.
