MMO

So, I'm just writing this here for the hell of it, because I'm waiting for Deborah to finish her movie and I'm done studying for tonight. This is my idea for an MMO.

So, your account is a family. You make your first character, give him/her stats and whatnot, and start playing in the world. You gain skills, go on adventures, what have you. You build/buy a house to put your stuff in, and in general do MMO stuff. You eventually find a mate, and have kids. your original character eventually dies.
So now, you can play one of your kids. They will have increased stats based on how powerful your family is, and they will have access to the gear you already got with your previous character. Lets say that you train this character to be a blacksmith. You powerlevel, get really good at blacksmithing, and other people on the server come to you to buy good weapons. So now your family is tagged with: blacksmith heritage. All future children in this family will have an inherent bonus to blacksmithing. Also, if you create a really good blacksmith, he may discover a new technique that revolutionizes the weapons he makes. Now the people in your city have access to better weapons through you.

Now your family is getting pretty big, and you have the few characters in your family that are your characters, and the rest are npcs. maybe one runs a shop to sell your goods, maybe 2 are builders to expand and keep up your house/town defenses, maybe a couple are researchers, maybe a few are guards. The city you live in has a large population, so the king of your city decides to go to war with a neighboring city. Your family is producing superior weapons, so your city has a big advantage. You conquer the neighboring city, forcing it's families out, and plundering their goods. Those families still have all their bonuses, but they probably lose a few members and a LOT of material goods.

Now your city is tagged with "war tradition" and all the families in it get a bonus to combat skills.
anyways, dibble is ready for bed, so I will just add: based on the advancements of the families in your/other cities, the technology level of the world would advance. This would be difficult to do I realize, but I think it would be an awesome game.
