The sun is out; it is disconcerting to see clouds of white billowing up past the windows until I remember "Right, wood siding, it's drying". Now that all of the blinds are up, it's easy to see where I've not been as thorough while dusting. :P
For those who missed the update in the comments: Disney the doggo is home. Her humans were in Leavenworth to see the lights; she was being cared for by a friend when she was startled by someone coming into the house, bolted and wound up running a mile and a half in the rain before following someone into the lobby of DS's building. It's a very built-up part of town with a lot of construction happening, and I imagine her people are shaking over how lucky she was.
The kettle, which has been twitchy for the last couple of weeks, flatly refused to work today: P. and I are going to take a crack at cleaning the contacts, and if that doesn't sort it, well, six years is an honourable length of time in service. (ETA: a baking soda paste and several terrifyingly dirty cotton swabs later, the kettle is fully functional again! While I had everything in the kitchen, I cleaned up my beloved Salter rotary kitchen timer - picture me, like Kirsten or Lucia, diligently applying cotton swabs! - washed my eyeglasses, and threw a cleaning/descaling tablet in the kettle for good measure. Now I shall eat my lunch, bundle up and walk into town to pick up my order from Churchmouse.)
