I am glad you were safely home for the worsening weather.

Glad the concert went well - in parts at least. Now I want to read up on Tchaikovsky running away from his disasterous two-month marriage.

We have occasionally had to walk off the boat via the car ramp - it always feels slightly perilous somehow :)

And since one_raido pointed the site out to me I have not only been watching sea traffic around our bit of the world- but also yours (https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-122.5/centery:47.6/zoom:11) Such a fascinating way to procrastinate when I planned to write more of Conversations with Dead People.

Yesterday at noon we had a tornado warning! That was exciting. :D P. went into full SKYWARN spotter mode and had both of us downstairs in the Mini in the underground garage within minutes, with the mobile amateur radio providing updates. Everything's fine, but it was a thrilling half hour.

A lot of people only came for the Tchaikovsky, and went home at intermission! As Cynthia explained it, his wife - a former student, wow, that was an excellent choice - wasn't prepared for either his personality or his sexuality.

The water's right there! Things are moving up and down!

That is enormous fun and I am now watching your traffic and that around Anacortes as well as ours. Ooooh, are you noodling about with a chapter? Maybe? *bounces*

You were very efficient in your tornado precautions - is it a communal underground garage? An interesting way to spend time with the neighbours if it is.

I can see the Ben is on schedule on the boat map, and I watched Tahoma going backwards and forwards and the Puyallup!

Conversations, part 2, is almost 1,000 words long - if I really apply myself I should get it finished this month.

That's what happens when your spouse grew up on the north end of "Tornado Alley": warning goes off and you move. Yes, it's a shared garage with most of the mechanicals for the buildings and secured storage lockers, with a fan taller than me at one end moving fresh air through the space.

I can see that the Manannan is in the harbour; it's a two-boat morning here! *dances* Oh, crapbaskets, the 10.05 from Anacortes to Friday Harbor is being restricted to small oversized (who on EARTH came up with that descriptor, I ask you) vehicles until further notice: box trucks, delivery vans and such. No individual cars; walk-on passengers can still board. I do not envy whoever's handling the social media sites for Washington State Ferries right now.

Eeeeee, new fic! I will be delighted whenever it shows up. :D

Oh dear yes - people are not going to be at all happy :(

Manannan will spend most of the winter in Douglas Harbour - she is our fastcraft and is not on the schedule over winter as the sea gets too rough for her. If there is a problem with the Ben she will do the passenger traffic 'weather permitting' and the Arrow will do overnight freight runs as she is more weather resilient!
