Cromwell thinks he lives a life of the lord. There are endless Wolsey flashbacks. Henry dances. This episode was boring. Lady Margaret Douglas married Thomas Howard the lesser. Harry rages. Wolsey dirted his bib. People plot against Cromwell. Lady Richmond aka Mary Howard lurks. Lady Margaret Douglas married without Henry’s permission or knowledge to his fury.
Jane Boleyn sneers. Cromwell has unpleasant things to do like dissolving the monasteries. Cromwell has a shattering encounter with Wolsey’s bastard daughter Dorothea. Anne Boleyn overestimated the king’s love for her as did Katherine as does Cromwell. Jane broods. The ingrate Pole plots. Cromwell can’t shake off Dorothea’s accusation.

A 4 part BBC1 drama about faith, conspiracy and mania based on a book. So much inaudible mumbling. A woman goes absolutely deranged over hearing a hum. Hubby is insufficiently curious. Is this one of satan’s favourite tactics to destroy her joy? Dumb woman faces the banality of hell. So much narrative seriousness. Rebecca Hall broods. Utterly meritless. Hubby has an insidious acceptance of a convenient yet false narrative.
