Movie Review: Bird Box Barcelona (2023)
A sequel/spinoff from the original. This is full of unsafe choices and ominous pronouncements and poor meerkats. There are new enemies and threats to the already decimated population. There is rollerskating but no foreboding. This is not a complicated analysis of modern society. There are aggressive blind people and goggles but no timely responses. This singularly failed to perform. There is a ruined city, a cast of randos including Georgina Campbell of 'Murdered By My Boyfriend' and 'The Ice Cream Girls' and 'Krypton'. There are twists. There are flashbacks but no diseases or stink in a city where the corpses rot where they fell. There are extremely dangerous repercussions. Fie on the ‘hero’. He is a blandly brooding unhinged threat. Horrendous things happen. There is no chilling vista just a sequel hook.
