Ok, so I'm really conflicted. I've decided on HIAA0850, Modern Architecture, for certain. That's MWF 11-11:50, so that's pretty decent.

Today I shopped ENGL0200-D, Visual Literature, and COLT1420-O, Proust, Joyce and Faulkner. The former meets early, at 9, on TTh, in the Rock. It is taught by a grad student, and will most likely not be taught again. I have read several of the books already and love them, and I always enjoy classes where I've done much of the reading already and can talk about them and stuff. There are three papers of varying lengths from 3-9 pages. It's a small section, looks to be fun, and will definitely be relatively easy except for the papers.

The latter is taught by Prof. Weinstein, who is awesome and will probably not teach much longer. This class will likely not be offered next year, anyhow, which is all that's relevant to me. It is later in the day, at 10:30, but it's on Pembroke. There is a large lecture once a week (which tend to make me sleepy) and a section that we can probably have held in our lounge since there are several alpha delts in the class. The reading will be much more difficult, and I've only read the Joyce (and am still working on Ulysses) but there will only be a few 1 page response papers and a final take-home essay.

Suggestions?

I'm also feeling like I don't particularly want to take painting, because I want to do shape-note singing 5-7 on Thursdays, and I'd have to run from List at 4:50 to Orwig and I've done that and it sucks. Also, people say I might not be allowed to do three half-credit classes. I guess I could audit shape-note singing, and then being late wouldn't be as bad, but that still sucks. Plus, if I don't get into painting, I can take advanced modern dance, which would be fun and good for exercise and all that. But I need studio classes for my major, and I can't take drawing until next fall (which bites). But painting will be expensive if I am in it.

So, I'm off to painting in a little while, half-hoping I won't get into it, so that I can go to advanced modern dance but still feel like I tried to do studios. I could try for a risd class, except with the classes I'm looking at it'll be nearly impossible to fit into my schedule.

ALSO! Revelation when talking to Alexander: Thomas Sangster should play Tintin. The proof is here: http://www.thomassangster.org/gallery/Dr_Who_308/slides/drwho308_0.html
