People in my generation have been thrust into the mindset that politics are inately corrupt, and this is an inalterable fact. We live in a two party system and each individual must belong to either party. However, the truth is, the two parties are merging together, the Democrates no less in the corporate pocket than the Republicans. The

Man, you used to be with it. What happened? Nader...Pah. What you must do is think of all of the implications of four years of Bush as opposed to Kerry. One must consider economic and foreign policy issues, as opposed to domestic social issues. Regardless of which one is most important to you, all three have an enormous effect on our future. Socially, compare and contrast them as you will. Economically, do you really consider the two candidates identical? With an initial glance, the differences are obvious, taxes, national debt, we all know the drill, and we all know what we want. The job market is diminishing under Bush, and although it might not affect you greatly in four years, consider it. Beyond that, the future technological implications as influenced by George W. Bush could be disastrous. Technologies help shape, and are shaped by social issues and politics. Four more years of hell could devastate research in medicine (stem cells, primarily), and especially in fuel alternatives. Being such a Nader fan, you must understand the already ridiculous problems with fossil fuels. And although you think he probably has the best solution, you have to ask yourself: Do I want future technologies to be shaped by fossil fuel economy, or hybrid and hydrogen alternatives?
In conclusion, you must seriously ask yourself if you believe everything you are saying. Bush=Kerry? Maybe at a rudimentary 'politicians are dumb' level. But to knowingly contribute to a dystopian future on the basis of that thesis...well, your call. Is a two-party system dumb? Of course it is, and of course people will be misrepresented. But, you'd have to return to the reign of Washington to escape it. The social climate is not at the right temperature for any major political upheavals. The only thing voting for Nader will do is help Bush win, and give you some form of egalitarian, elitist self-image, because your newly found 'beliefs' remained intact.
